HOW WE STARTED

Became a reality for Jill and Roger in August of 2015. We had been jokingly talking about buying a bar/restaurant since 2011 right after I had gotten out of the wholesale beer business. I went back to school for two and a half years.
When I still couldn’t find a job that worked with the skills I had developed over the years at the distributorship we started looking for bars for sale. We came across a really nice building that we thought would be perfect to start this venture, as it turned out it was not going to work out.
We then came across this location, The Candybar, This bar has been know by many names, in fact this building has been a bar since 1927. We started stopping in to see what kind of patrons would visit and how busy they would get. As it turns out it has lost of potential with so many things that will be going on in downtown Mason City. We made an offer and started the process for purchasing.
On November 9th we signed papers and the bar was ours, We opened on November 24th, and our journey began.
